How I see

Atmosphere before spectacle.

Photography is where I study atmosphere without a campaign brief. I am drawn to changing weather, strong natural colour, layered landscapes and the small human presence inside large environments.

Event coverage rarely follows the first plan. These two short films show how I notice the strongest available angle and build a story from what is actually happening.

Calgary Stampede fireworks

When the planned Skyride shot was no longer possible

The queue was longer than expected and the fireworks began before I could board. I quickly reframed from the ground, using the Ferris wheel and moving Skyride as layers so the final video felt even more like a night at the midway.

While everyone waited for the national-day fireworks, I noticed the sunset changing behind downtown Calgary. The transition from warm sky to city light became its own story.

My work moves between landscape, food, culture and documentary moments. Canon, Sony and DJI tools let me adapt the process to the story rather than force every story into the same look.
